Glenman Corporation Renews its sponsorship
Athenry Music School is delighted to announce Glenman Corporation Ltd’s commitment as the principal sponsor of the school for a fourth consecutive year. During that time, the school experienced a phenomenal rate of expansion: its pupil body increased by eight hundred percent since its inception. With almost 400 students and a teaching staff of 21, the school continues to excel itself at both a national and local level. In February 2012, the school’s senior orchestra made an impressive debut performance in the National Concert Hall in Dublin. This was enhanced by the orchestra’s new woodwind, brass and percussion sections. The school’s newly established choir featured in the school’s annual community performance in the Church of the Assumption in Athenry in June, which was attended by some 1000 people.
Katharine Mannion and Helen Farrell, Directors of Athenry Music School, expressed their sincere thanks to Glenman Corporation for its continued, greatly valued sponsorship. “This generous financial support has constituted a major catalyst in the development and success of Athenry Music School,” outlined Katharine.
“As a company, Glenman has been involved in the construction of several educational institutions throughout Ireland, “ added Albert Conneally, Managing Director of Glenman. “The company feels privileged to have had the opportunity to support a school that has educated hundreds of new musicians and supported the establishment of music’s pivotal role in hundreds of households in the community of Athenry and beyond.”
Athenry Music School is also supported by The Arts Council of Ireland, Music Network, the Irish Association of Youth Orchestras ad Galway County Council.
